Exploring Proteins and Nucleic Acids with Jmol is a manual containing self-guided exercises that enable the user to learn how to download structures from the Protein DataBase (PDB) and display them and manipulate them using the program Jmol. The user gradually acquires the skills to use Jmol while proceeding to learn the basics of protein structure in a manner that parallels the way they will be learning the material in an introductory biochemistry course.
It can be used as an adjunct to beginning biochemistry courses and is also suitable for anyone who wants to begin learning how to use the PDB and how to use Jmol.
