James Hughes

I am an Elliott Assistant Research Professor at Duke University, working with Lenny Ng. I completed my PhD at UC Davis in 2023, advised by Roger Casals. Before that, I graduated with a B.A. in mathematics and music from Bowdoin College. In the fall, I will be starting an RTG postdoc at USC. 

My research is in low-dimensional contact and symplectic topology.
