How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.

• JLab's biggest strength: A sport-specific design — an ergonomic earhook that stays locked in during runs and HIIT, IP55 sweat and dust resistance, and 9+ hours per earbud with 26+ more in the case.
• JLab's biggest trade-off: The hook shape is built for movement first. If you want a bud that disappears in your ear for all-day office wear, that extra structure may feel like more than you need.
• Donerton's biggest strength: Endurance and a light footprint — up to 8 hours per charge, 37 more from the case, a 13mm dynamic driver, and a single bud that weighs just 3.9g.
• Donerton's biggest trade-off: No earhook, no companion app, and a shorter 12-month repair window. The fit relies on the eartip seal rather than a physical lock.
• Pick JLab if you train hard, take a lot of calls, and want to tune your sound yourself.
• Pick Donerton Earbuds if you want the longest possible playtime, the lightest feel, and a case that slips into any pocket.
The Go Sport+ is not a general-purpose earbud that happens to survive the gym. It's a gym earbud that happens to work everywhere else. The defining feature is the ergonomic earhook — JLab sizes it to fit even smaller ears, which matters more than most buyers expect. A hook that's too big slides; a hook that's too small pinches. Getting that right is the whole reason this design exists, and it's why the buds stay put through runs and HIIT instead of needing a mid-set re-seat.
Battery is the second pillar. JLab rates 9+ hours in each earbud and 26+ more from the case, for 35+ hours total. The case has a built-in USB cable, so there's no cord to remember — that's a small detail that fixes a real annoyance. You also get a 10-minute quick charge for roughly an hour of playtime. For a full week of commutes or daily sessions, that's more than enough headroom.
On the audio side, JLab leans on software. The JLab App lets you switch between JLab Signature, Balanced and Bass Boost EQ presets, adjust Be Aware Audio levels, and remap the touch controls. Be Aware Audio pipes outdoor sound in, which is a genuine safety feature if you run near traffic. Calls run through C3 Clear Calling with dual MEMS mics — one for your voice, one to cancel background noise. Bluetooth Multipoint pairs to two devices at once (phone and laptop together), and Dual Connect lets either bud work independently. Each bud has its own MEMS mic, so a single-bud call still sounds like a call.
Who should buy it: Runners, lifters, cyclists, and anyone who takes calls while moving. Also a good fit if you like tinkering with EQ rather than accepting a fixed tuning. The 2-year JLab warranty is the longest in this comparison and worth real weight.
Donerton Earbuds: Who It's For
Donerton takes the opposite approach. Where JLab adds structure, Donerton strips it away. A single earbud weighs 3.9g — light enough that you stop noticing it — and the shape is designed not to protrude from your ears. That's a deliberate choice for people who wear buds under a helmet, under a hat, or through a long shift where a hook would rub.
The headline number is battery. Donerton rates 8 hours of continuous playback per charge plus 37 hours from the case, for 40 hours total. The case charges in 1.5 hours over USB-C, and there's a dual LED display that shows the remaining power for both the buds and the case. That last part is genuinely useful — guessing whether your case is half-full is a daily irritation, and a display removes it.
Sound comes from 13mm dynamic drivers with polymer diaphragms, tuned across a balanced three-channel framework. That's a substantially larger driver than JLab's 6mm, and in practical terms larger drivers generally move more air and tend to deliver fuller low-end. Donerton also pairs CVC noise reduction with the built-in mics to filter surrounding noise on calls. Bluetooth 5.4 is the newer standard here, with auto-pairing once you've connected the first time and better resistance to interference. Bluetooth range is listed at 15 meters versus JLab's 10.
Touch controls handle calls, volume and track changes, and the buds work with Android, iOS, tablets, PCs and laptops. The box includes the case, two buds, four replacement ear caps, a Type-C cable and a manual.
Who should buy it: Long-shift workers, students, commuters and casual athletes who want maximum playtime with minimum weight. Also a strong pick if you want the newer Bluetooth version and a visible battery readout.
Who should skip it: If you need buds that physically lock into your ears during sprint intervals or burpees, an earhook is simply more secure than a friction fit. And if app-based EQ matters to you, Donerton doesn't offer one. The warranty is 12-month repair with 24-hour response, which is shorter than JLab's two years.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for workout security → JLab. The ergonomic earhook is built to stay locked in during runs and HIIT. Donerton relies on eartip seal alone.
• Best for sweat and dust protection → JLab. IP55 is an explicit rating. Donerton describes its buds as waterproof for sports but doesn't publish an IP number.
• Best for sound customization → JLab. Three EQ presets, adjustable Be Aware Audio and remappable touch controls via the JLab App. Donerton has no app.
• Best for driver size and low-end potential → Donerton Earbuds. 13mm dynamic drivers versus JLab's 6mm.
• Best for charging convenience → JLab. The case has a built-in USB cable, so there's nothing extra to pack. Donerton uses a separate Type-C cable but charges the case faster at 1.5 hours.
• Best for battery visibility → Donerton Earbuds. The dual LED display shows remaining power for both buds and case.
• Best for lighter, lower-profile wear → Donerton Earbuds. 3.9g per bud and a shape designed not to protrude.
• Best for multi-device switching → JLab. Bluetooth Multipoint pairs to two devices at once, and either bud works independently.
• Best for warranty length → JLab. Two years versus Donerton's 12-month repair coverage.
• Best for newer Bluetooth → Donerton Earbuds. Bluetooth 5.4 with auto-pairing and a longer listed 15-meter range.
I'd buy the JLab Go Sport+ if movement is the main event. The earhook, IP55 rating, Multipoint pairing, app EQ and two-year warranty add up to a set of buds that was designed around training and calls rather than adapted to them. The 35+ hours of total playtime is plenty for a week of sessions.
That said, if your priority is pure endurance, a lighter feel and the bigger 13mm driver, I'd point you to the Donerton Earbuds. Forty hours total with a battery display on the case is genuinely hard to argue with for long days. Decide what your ears actually do all week — that answers it faster than any spec sheet.
Neither wins outright. JLab is the better sport and call earbud thanks to the earhook, IP55 rating, Multipoint Bluetooth and app EQ. Donerton is the better endurance pick with 40 hours total and a 13mm driver. It depends entirely on whether you prioritize fit security or playtime.
JLab rates 9+ hours in each earbud with 26+ more in the case, for 35+ hours total. Donerton rates 8 hours per charge with 37 more in the case, for 40 hours total. Donerton wins on total; JLab wins slightly on a single charge.
Donerton lists sound isolation as its noise control type, plus a CVC algorithm that filters surrounding noise during calls. That's passive isolation plus call noise reduction, not active noise cancellation. JLab is the same — sound isolation, with dual MEMS mics for call clarity.
For running, I'd take JLab. The ergonomic earhook is explicitly sized to stay locked in during runs and HIIT, and the IP55 rating covers sweat and dust. Donerton's 3.9g buds are lighter and fine for gym work, but without a hook they depend on the eartip seal staying put.
JLab covers the Go Sport+ with a two-year warranty. Donerton offers 12-month repair support with 24-hour response. If long-term coverage matters to you, JLab is the safer bet.
One last thing worth doing before you commit: check the current price on Amazon for both. Specs tell you which bud fits your routine, but the price at checkout is what settles the tie.
