If you want active noise cancelling bluetooth headphones for small ears with a secure in-ear seal and customizable sound profiles, choose JLab Go Pop ANC; if you need ipx7 waterproof on ear headphones for small ears that keep your hearing open to the world while offering weeks of battery life, choose BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds. Both options solve the "one size fits all" problem differently, but they serve two distinct lifestyles. The JLab model is designed for immersion, blocking out the chaos of a commute or office to let you focus, whereas the BestPriceCenter option prioritizes situational awareness, letting you wear them while jogging, cycling, or working at a desk without ever feeling isolated from your surroundings. This isn't about which one has better specs on paper; it is about whether you want to shut the world out or stay connected to it while you listen.
• JLab Go Pop ANC: Its biggest strength is the Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology with three distinct modes (On, Off, Be Aware) and 10mm drivers that deliver deep, full-range audio. Its trade-off is the in-ear design, which requires finding the right gel tip size for comfort and seals the ear canal completely. This pick is for commuters, travelers, and anyone who needs to block out distractions.
• BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds: Its biggest strength is the open-ear clip design that leaves the ear canal unsealed for total environmental awareness and a 40-hour total playtime that lasts a full week on a single charge. Its trade-off is the lack of passive isolation, meaning bass response relies entirely on the driver placement rather than a seal, and there is no active noise cancellation. This pick is for runners, cyclists, and office workers who need to hear traffic or colleagues while listening to music.
The JLab Go Pop ANC is engineered for the listener who values control over their sonic environment. If you are someone who finds themselves constantly turning up the volume to drown out background chatter on a bus, an airplane, or a busy coffee shop, this device is built specifically for you. The inclusion of Active Noise Cancellation is not just a gimmick here; it offers three specific modes: ANC On to silence the world, ANC Off for standard listening, and Be Aware to pass through outside noises when you need to be alert. This flexibility allows you to adapt instantly to changing environments without removing the earbuds.

For those with smaller ears, the fit is a critical consideration. JLab addresses this by including three sets of gel eartips, ensuring that you can find a seal that is both comfortable and secure. The design features a compact case that is smaller than a credit card, making it ideal for pockets where bulk is unwelcome. Inside, the 10mm drivers provide a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, delivering clear, full-range audio that rivals larger competitors. The memory foam-like texture of the tips helps create a physical barrier against noise, which is essential for the ANC to function effectively.
However, this product is not for everyone. If you have sensitive ear canals that cannot tolerate any pressure or if you dislike the sensation of having your ear blocked, the in-ear bud style might cause fatigue after several hours. Additionally, while the battery life of 7+ hours per charge is solid for a workday, it does not match the marathon duration of open-ear alternatives. You will need to recharge the case more frequently if you are traveling across multiple days without access to power. The JLab Go Pop ANC is best suited for those who prioritize audio fidelity, noise isolation, and the ability to customize their EQ via the companion app over the convenience of never taking anything out of their ears.
The BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds cater to a very different philosophy: freedom and safety. These are not designed to isolate you from reality but to enhance your experience of it. The defining feature is the clip-on design that rests gently over the outer ear, leaving the ear canal completely open. There are no tips, no suction, and no pressure points inside the ear. This makes them an exceptional choice for small ears because they bypass the struggle of finding the perfect plug size entirely. Instead of forcing a seal into the canal, they simply hook onto the cartilage, distributing weight evenly and eliminating the "ache" that often comes with long-term in-ear use.
Battery anxiety is a common frustration for many users, and this product solves it with a massive 40-hour total playtime. The charging case acts as a power bank, storing enough energy to last a commuter through a full week of trains and calls or a traveler through a long weekend. The description highlights a "weekly rhythm" where you charge the case once, and the buds refill automatically every time you click them back into the molded seats. This means you can go days without hunting for a cable, making it a "set it and forget it" solution for daily life. The IPX5 water resistance rating also ensures they can handle gym sweat and unexpected rain, though they are not submersible.
The trade-offs are inherent to the open-ear form factor. Without a seal in the ear canal, the bass response will naturally be less punchy than in-ear models, and ambient noise cannot be actively cancelled. You will still hear the wind while running or the hum of the office, but this is often a feature, not a bug, for safety-conscious users. The interchangeable design allows you to use one bud or both, which is perfect for multitasking during errands. If you need to hear announcements, crosswalk sounds, or coworkers while listening to a podcast, these are the superior choice. They are lightweight, weighing only 3 ounces for the whole kit, and fit easily into a pocket or bag without creating a bulge.
• Best for Active Noise Cancellation → JLab Go Pop ANC. Only the JLab model offers true ANC with three modes to filter out unwanted sound; the BestPriceCenter buds rely on natural separation and cannot block noise electronically.
• Best for Situational Awareness → BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds. The open-ear design ensures you never miss a car horn, a colleague calling your name, or a transit announcement, making them safer for outdoor activities.
• Best for Battery Life → BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds. With 40 hours of total playtime, these beat the JLab's 27+ hours significantly, allowing for longer intervals between charges.
• Best for Secure Fit in Small Ears → Tie (with caveats). JLab offers three tip sizes for a custom seal, while BestPriceCenter uses a universal clip that avoids the ear canal entirely, fitting almost any ear shape without adjustment.
• Best for Audio Customization → JLab Go Pop ANC. The JLab App allows you to remap touch controls, adjust EQ presets (Signature, Balanced, Bass Boost), and fine-tune the Be Aware settings, offering a level of personalization the BestPriceCenter buds do not mention.
• Best for Commuting and Travel → JLab Go Pop ANC. The combination of noise cancellation and a compact, credit-card-sized case makes it easier to sleep on planes or focus in noisy train cars.
• Best for Sports and Running → BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds. The open design prevents sweat buildup in the ear canal and keeps you aware of your surroundings, which is critical for outdoor exercise safety.
• Best for Call Quality → Both. Both products include built-in MEMS mics (JLab) or compatible device mics (BestPriceCenter) for clear conversations, but the JLab explicitly mentions dual-mic support for clearer calls.
In my opinion, if you are looking for the best headphones for small ears that offer a premium listening experience with the ability to block out the noise of the world, I would buy the JLab Go Pop ANC. The combination of active noise cancellation, customizable EQ, and the inclusion of multiple tip sizes provides a level of versatility that open-ear designs simply cannot match. However, if your priority is staying safe while moving, needing to hear your environment, or wanting a battery that lasts an entire week without charging, the BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds are the undeniable winner. They remove the discomfort of earplugs and offer a freedom that in-ear buds cannot provide. Ultimately, the choice depends on whether you want to retreat into your music or remain part of the room around you.
Yes, both options are suitable for small ears but in different ways. The JLab Go Pop ANC includes three different gel tip sizes to ensure a tight, secure seal for smaller canals, while the BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds use a universal clip design that does not require insertion into the ear canal at all.
No, the BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds do not feature Active Noise Cancellation. They rely on their open-ear design to keep your hearing open to the environment, which is safer for outdoor activities but means you will hear ambient noise alongside your music.
The BestPriceCenter Open Ear Buds offer superior battery life with up to 40 hours of total playtime compared to the JLab Go Pop ANC's 27+ hours. This makes the BestPriceCenter model ideal for long trips where you might not have frequent access to a charger.
Yes, both products support independent use. The JLab Go Pop ANC allows you to use either earbud alone thanks to its Dual Connect feature, and the BestPriceCenter buds are designed to be used interchangeably on either ear, allowing you to keep one side free for conversation or awareness.
