How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want marathon battery life and on-bud sound tuning for all-day listening, choose JLab Go Air Pop; if you need an ultra-small, low-profile earbud built for sleeping and side-sleeping comfort, choose Loluka in-Ear.
• JLab Go Air Pop — biggest strength: 8+ hours per earbud and 32+ hours total with the case, plus three built-in EQ modes you can switch without an app.
• JLab Go Air Pop — biggest trade-off: The dual-driver tuning and fuller sound come with a bigger, heavier case (about 59 g) and a more standard earbud shape that isn't designed for lying on your side.
• Loluka in-Ear — biggest strength: An ultra-small, silicone, low-profile design developed from 3D ear scans, made to sit flush and stay comfortable for long stretches, including sleep.
• Loluka in-Ear — biggest trade-off: Shorter battery life — about 4 hours per charge and 16 extra from the case — and no active sound tuning or noise control.
• Pick JLab Go Air Pop if you want the longest runtime and adjustable sound for commuting, workouts and calls.
• Pick Loluka in-Ear if you want the smallest, most unobtrusive fit for sleep, side-sleeping and all-day wear.
The Go Air Pop is built around staying power. JLab rates each earbud at 8+ hours of playtime, with 24+ extra hours in the case for 32+ hours total. The case holds a 350 mAh battery, recharges in about 2 hours, and has an integrated USB cable, so you don't need to hunt for a separate cord. Few truly wireless earbuds in this class promise that much runtime, and it's the single most compelling reason to pick these.
Sound and control are equally practical. A 6 mm dynamic driver handles a 20 Hz–20 kHz range, and the touch sensors let you cycle through three EQ settings — JLab Signature, Balanced and Bass Boost — without opening an app. You also get volume and track controls, play/pause, call answering, and smart-assistant activation on the bud itself. Dual Connect lets you use either earbud solo or both together, with a MEMS microphone in each for calls. At Bluetooth 5.1 with roughly 30 feet of range, the connection is standard but reliable.
The fit story is where it gets more ordinary. JLab says the buds are 15% smaller and 40% lighter than its previous generation, and includes three gel tip sizes (S/M/L) to help you get a seal. But the case is a pocket-friendly slab, not a sleep-friendly pod — you won't want to roll onto it at night. IPX4 handles sweat and light splashes, not swimming or heavy rain.
Buy it if you want maximum battery life, adjustable sound on the fly and solid call quality for commuting, gym sessions and work. Skip it if your priority is the smallest possible in-ear fit for sleeping in.
The Loluka in-Ear is a different animal entirely. Its whole identity is the ultra-small, invisible fit. The earbuds were developed using 3D ear scans from a variety of ears and shaped to follow the natural contours of the ear for a low-profile, unobtrusive seal. The tips are silicone and the color is a skin-toned "nude," which is clearly aimed at people who want earbuds that disappear — in the ear and on the nightstand.
That makes it a sleep-first product. The tiny, rounded shape and lightweight build (the whole set is around 60 g) mean less pressure when your head rests on a pillow, and the ergonomic curve is designed to sit securely through workouts, commuting and relaxing too. If standard earbuds dig in or fall out when you lie down, this is the category to look at.
The trade-offs are real, though. Battery life is about 4 hours per charge with 16 extra hours in the case — roughly half the JLab's runtime — and the case itself takes about 4 hours to charge. Bluetooth 5.3 is a newer standard and pairs broadly with phones, and two earbuds can connect at once or be used independently without extra pairing steps. But there's no noise control and no EQ tuning; sound is fixed "stereo/8D surround" as described, not adjustable. IPX4 covers sweat and splashes only. The earbuds are listed for adults.
Buy it if you want the smallest, most comfortable in-ear fit for sleep, side-sleeping and all-day unobtrusive wear. Skip it if you need long battery life or sound customization.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for battery life → JLab Go Air Pop. 32+ hours total versus roughly 20 hours on the Loluka.
• Best for sleep and side-sleeping → Loluka in-Ear. The 3D-scan ergonomic shape and ultra-small size are the whole point.
• Best for sound customization → JLab Go Air Pop. Three EQ modes via touch, no app required; the Loluka has no EQ options.
• Best for calls → JLab Go Air Pop. A MEMS microphone in each earbud is a call-focused feature the Loluka sheet doesn't list.
• Best Bluetooth standard → Loluka in-Ear. Bluetooth 5.3 is newer than the JLab's 5.1.
• Best for workouts and commuting → JLab Go Air Pop. Longer runtime and adjustable sound suit longer sessions; both are IPX4.
• Best for quick case top-ups → JLab Go Air Pop. The case recharges in about 2 hours versus about 4 for the Loluka.
In my opinion, the JLab Go Air Pop is the better all-rounder and the one I'd buy for most people. The 32+ hours of total battery life, three EQ modes and per-bud microphones make it genuinely useful across commuting, workouts and calls. The Loluka in-Ear wins one specific job outright: if you want to sleep with earbuds in, its ultra-small 3D-scanned shape is the smarter pick. So buy the JLab unless sleep comfort is your number one reason for shopping.
Yes, in my opinion. The Loluka is designed around an ultra-small, ergonomic, low-profile fit developed from 3D ear scans, which makes it far more likely to stay comfortable when you lie on your side. The JLab is a more conventional earbud shape.
The JLab Go Air Pop. JLab rates it at 8+ hours per earbud and 32+ hours total with the case, while the Loluka is rated at about 4 hours per charge plus 16 hours from its case.
Yes. The JLab offers three touch-controlled EQ modes — Signature, Balanced and Bass Boost — plus volume and track controls. The Loluka lists touch media controls but no EQ or noise-control options.
Both are IPX4, so both handle sweat and light splashes. The JLab Go Air Pop lasts longer per session and lets you boost bass, while the Loluka in-Ear is smaller and more secure-feeling for movement. For longer workouts, I'd lean JLab.
