Welcome!

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Chungnam National University (CNU).  I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science with a specialization in the Forsythe Family Program on Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  Prior to joining CNU, I worked as a visiting researcher at the Human Rights Research and Education Centre at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and as a research fellow at the Institute for Southeast Asian Studies, Jeonbuk National University and Center for Good Democracy, Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea.

My research interests include human rights, international intervention & cooperation, and social integration policies, focusing on the Southeast Asian region.  My current research centers on forced migration governance in ASEAN countries, particularly concerning the status of Rohingya and other Myanmar refugees in Thailand and Malaysia.  In particular, I am interested in states' compliance with international refugee protection norms, highlighting the role of refugee-led community organizations in the nexus between political leadership and civil society.  I also work on a survey research project entitled, public perception toward migrant-refugee policies and multicultural society, with Korea Research.  Some of my works have been published in the Pacific Review, Korean Journal of International Relations, and Southeast Asian Review.

I appreciate you taking the time to visit my website, and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
