Jiwan Jiang, Ph.D. Instructional Assistant Professor Texas A&M University
I am currently an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Zachry Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University. I primarily teach undergraduate courses, including CVEN 302: Computer Applications in Engineering and Construction and CVEN 307: Transportation Engineering.
I earned my Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, with a minor in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 2025. My dissertation, titled Fundamental Diagram for Mixed Traffic Flow: Stochastic and Dynamic Properties, explores the complex dynamics and stochasticity of mixed automated and human-driven vehicles using probabilistic and frequency-domain approaches.
My research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence applications in transportation, traffic flow theory, and connected and automated vehicle control.
I am honored to have received the 2024 WTS Wisconsin Helene Overly Memorial Graduate Scholarship and the Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award from Southeast University in 2021.
Outside of academia, I enjoy traveling and discovering new places. I am always open to collaborations, research projects, and professional opportunities—feel free to contact me here.
