JIS College of Engineering the premier educational Institution in eastern India is exploring a number of avenues to inculcate innovative mindsets of students in particular through its variety of activities through Institutional Innovation Council (IIC-JISCE). Just like every year this year also they are going to organize JISTech for all students beyond the barriers off hardware, hardware or fundamental scientific and technological concepts. Students group formed from well versed software orientation would be jointly developing solutions along with students deeply inclined to hardware aspects starting from design-development to marketing.

JISTech2k22 is the annual Technical Symposium of JIS College of Engineering for nurturing little innovations evolving within budding engineers. Major objective of this symposium is to inspire students to convert their ideas into design and at the same time provide a global platform to the young innovators to showcase their projects to a larger peer group.

‘JISTech2K22’ reiterates its commitment towards fostering the spirit of learning and innovation by providing budding professionals the opportunity to showcase their talent on a hands-on platform. Additionally, it arranges grants, scope of patent filing and start up to all students beyond the barriers off hardware, hardware, or fundamental scientific and technological concepts. It becomes one of the best avenues to inculcate innovative mindsets of students through Institutional Innovation Council and provides platform to become Industry ready through Institution-Industry Cell.

History:

JISTech2K22 is the 7th annual Technical Symposium of JIS College of Engineering. The first event was held in April 2015 with active participation all stakeholders. From then the event has been the platform for exhibiting young talents to outside world followed by its sequel in January 2016 and in February 2017. The 2017 event was enriched by active participation of Russian delegates. The JISTech2K18 was organized in February 2018 at Biswabangla Auditorium, Kolkata with participation of various national and international delegates. The JISTech2K19 was organized in March 2019 with the theme of helping differently abled persons with the innovations. Till date 30 patents have been made from the prototypes exhibited in this technical symposium.

About the Institution:

JIS College of Engineering is the first private self-financed Autonomous Engineering Institution in the State of West Bengal under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology and are affiliated to AICTE, UGC (2f & 12B). Our Institution is accredited with NIRF, UGC NAAC Grade – ‘A’, eligible engineering departments are accredited by NBA and moreover Institution qualified for Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (As only Private Institution under Subcomponent 1.2 for PG and Research) funded by World Bank. The Institution had been declared as an Autonomous Institution by the University Grant Commission in 2011 and its renewal in 2017. There is a well-established R&D culture within the Institute. Hosting and arranging R&D events like National and International Conference/ Workshop / Seminar/Symposium are very prominent at the institute. The Institution has been chosen as commencement venue by the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in its inception as a National Institution. Recently, JISCE organized an International Conference at AICTE HQ on Digital Pedagogy with AICTE, MHRD, UNISCO, World Bank Group as co-conveners where more than 200 Institutes across India took part and enriched themselves.

Facilities & Information:

Apart from providing necessary infrastructural support such as space, power and internet the event provides an active platform to all participants to present their ideas and design to a galaxy of national and international experts from Industry, Academia and Govt. R&D organizations. The product development and its marketability and access to larger community is judged though a panel of technocrats having wide network and acts as a perfect set up for nurturing young entrepreneurs.
