Jing Han

Short Bio

Jing Han is a senior research associate at the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge, UK, advised by Prof. Cecilia Mascolo. She received her doctoral degree from Chair of Embedded Intelligence for Health Care and Wellbeing, University of Augsburg, Germany, in 2020, supervised by Prof. Björn W. Schuller. Prior to that, she received her master degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2014, and her bachelor degree in electronic and information engineering from Harbin Engineering University, China, in 2011.

Her research interests are related to deep learning for health care and multimodal affective computing. To date, she has (co-)authored more than 50 publications [google scholar] in prestigious journals (e.g., IEEE SPM, IEEE T-AFFEC, IEEE T-PAMI, and IEEE CIM) and conferences (e.g., ACM MM, IEEE ICASSP, ISCA INTERSPEECH) in relevant fields.

She is an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing, and reviews regularly for many prestigious journals (e.g., IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Multimedia). Moreover, she (co-)organised special sessions in ICASSP 2022 and INTERSPEECH 2021, and (co-)chaired sessions or served as a program committee member of many international conferences. She was granted an Honourable Mention AAAC Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award by AAAC in 2021 and a Better Future Award by the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge in 2021.
