SJTJ is back for a while! This little infrequent music programme has been bobbing around for quite a few years now & details of earlier shows can be found on other pages of this website. Here's a precis of what is written elsewhere...
I grew up in the 1960's & 70's, so my music taste veered towards the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Supertramp, Barclay James Harvest - & many more... But - our house has been filled with all types of music over the years & I feel lucky to have been introduced to music from the 90's & beyond, & there is some amazing music available now very different from my teenage years which I find just as enjoyable & stimulating!
I no longer believe in 'the good old days' - sure - there is a great legacy from days gone by, but if you just listen to music you already know, then you'll never get to experience hearing something totally new in structure or instrument or sound. I really enjoy hearing music which makes me think - where on earth did that come from? - or - I've got to hear that again!
So, I look at my musical taste as an interesting journey, knowing where I've come from & not having a clue where I'm heading, with a completely open mind on what I listen to. By means of this programme I'd like to share with you music that you may never have heard before, with the hope that you find enjoyment in some of my selections!
You will also hear reference to LA - 'Loving Awareness' - in SJTJ. This goes back to a concept I was introduced to many moons ago, and is an ideal that still resonates and complements the meaning behind many of my current listening choices.
You can find a fuller explanation of LA on our VOLA page - click on the link below...
