Art has always been my strength and the most experienced skill of mine. However, there is still room for improvement. So I planned to strengthen my skills through achieving service activities.
Learning Outcomes
1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
2. Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
3. Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
4. Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
5. Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions
I have a strong obsession with cats (still). And I’m designing for the PAWS club again, but this time it’s for stickers. I’m assigned to do Halloween stickers. I’m not really sure what to design but I just kept thinking of “meme” stuff so I decided to go for something funny.
I thought a sticker should be simple, so I firstly designed a black cat with a witch hat and a broom. Personally it doesn’t turn out really well. I began to think about what to do more seriously. Making a sticker with Halloween design and for PAWS is not the only thing to consider, but to make it simple and appealing. I realized I’m probably bad at doing simple things so I just went for what I normally will do.
The second one I made has more complex strokes and details than the first one, and it has more of my style to it. Now I look back, I think it’s better to change the paper that the cat is holding to just a simple shape or a wooden board, but I submitted it already so I can’t change it. The last one I did was the famous meme of pop cat. But I added a witch hat with a ball of PAWS sign on it.
The members really liked my second design so they chose that one, which I respected their decision.
My first design.
My second design.
This activity for the clubs makes me realize that designing is something uneasy. You’ll have to follow the requirements at the same time to make it appealing and advertising(otherwise no one will buy it). Also, doing things like this takes effort and time to make.
