My name is Jiayun Luo (Letitia), and I am currently a first-year Ph.D. student working with Prof. Leonid Sigal at the University of British Columbia. I obtained my Master of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore and Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics from UCLA.
My research focuses on two interconnected areas: (1) the fundamental study of multimodal large language models (MLLMs), including interpreting MLLMs using attention mechanisms, synthetic data generation for training, and improving training strategies; and (2) the emergent capability of VLMs, specifically open-vocabulary visual grounding and semantic segmentation.
