If you want a robust replacement winch to lift and secure your heavy spare tire on a Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra, choose Jhyzxiang Spare Tire Hoist; if you need a precise, flexible clip to hold the rubber seal strip on your Thule WingBar EVO crossbars, choose iqhsikao Seal Retainer Clip.
These two products solve completely different mechanical problems for vehicle owners, yet both serve as essential maintenance parts that keep your gear safe and your drive quiet. The Jhyzxiang unit is a structural component designed to handle the immense weight of an off-road tire, while the iqhsikao clip is a tiny but critical fastener that prevents wind noise and seal failure on a roof rack system. You cannot swap these items; one is built for under-carriage tension, and the other is engineered for aerodynamic sealing. I have analyzed the specifications and design intent of both to help you decide which part belongs in your toolkit for tailgating season or daily commuting.
• Jhyzxiang Spare Tire Hoist: Its biggest strength is heavy-duty steel construction specifically molded for 5 or 6-lug wheels on GM trucks from 1999 to 2018; its trade-off is it requires specific vehicle compatibility and does not fit 8-lug models.
• iqhsikao Seal Retainer Clip: Its biggest strength is its flexible TPU material that fits snugly without tools to replace broken ends on Thule bars; its trade-off is it is strictly a small accessory for roof racks and has no utility for tires.
• Who each pick is for: Choose Jhyzxiang if you own a Silverado, Tahoe, or Suburban and your winch mechanism has failed; choose iqhsikao if you are running a Thule WingBar EVO system and lost a seal holder.
This product is clearly designed for the truck owner who spends time hauling heavy loads or preparing for off-road adventures. When you are out tailgating or heading to a remote campsite, having a reliable way to secure your spare tire under the vehicle is non-negotiable. If your current winch cable snaps or the carrier breaks, this hoist serves as the primary mechanism to stow that weight safely.
The fitment details are extensive because they must be exact. This unit is compatible with a wide range of Chevrolet and GMC models, including the Silverado 1500 (1999-2018), Silverado 2500/3500, Suburban, and Tahoe. It references specific OEM numbers like 20870067 and 924-510, which tells me this is a direct replacement part meant to slot into existing mounting points without modification. However, there is a hard limitation: it only fits vehicles with 5 or 6-lug wheels. If you have an 8-lug setup, this part will not work, regardless of how strong the steel is.
You should buy this if your current spare tire carrier is damaged, missing, or simply worn out after years of use. The package includes just the single hoist unit in a box, meaning you likely already have the necessary cables or hardware attached to your truck, or you are replacing the entire assembly piece by piece. The manufacturer offers a one-year unlimited-mileage guarantee, which implies confidence in the durability of the steel construction. If you are a truck enthusiast who values peace of mind on long drives, this is the part you need to ensure your spare doesn't rattle loose or drop while parked.

In stark contrast, this item is a tiny solution for a very specific aero-acoustic problem. The iqhsikao Seal Retainer Clip is designed exclusively for Thule WingBar EVO crossbars. Its primary function is to maintain the integrity of the rubber seal strip located on the underside of the bar. Without this clip, the rubber strip can slide out or come loose, leading to increased wind noise and potential water intrusion. It is a simple, functional piece that ensures your roof rack stays quiet and sealed against the elements.
The material choice here is distinct from the truck hoist. This clip is made of TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) and is 3D printed. This material choice provides flexibility and durability, allowing the clip to grip the rubber strip tightly without cracking under vibration. The dimensions are minuscule at roughly 0.5 x 1 x 1 inches, and the package contains four clips. This suggests you might lose one during installation or want spares for future wear.
You should purchase this if you notice wind whistling coming from your roof rack or if the rubber seal strip on your Thule bars has started to sag or detach. It is also a practical spare to keep in your glove box if you frequently travel with a roof rack and fear losing small parts. The design allows for straightforward installation without special tools, making it accessible for anyone comfortable working on their vehicle. Since it is a third-party replacement part, it is important to understand it is not affiliated with the original brand, but it serves the same mechanical purpose of holding the seal in place. If you rely on your roof rack for transporting gear during road trips or tailgating setups, keeping the seals tight is essential for a clean driving experience.
• Best for heavy-duty load security → Jhyzxiang Spare Tire Hoist: The steel construction and winch mechanism are built to manage the significant weight of a spare tire, something a plastic clip could never do.
• Best for reducing wind noise → iqhsikao Seal Retainer Clip: Only this clip addresses the aerodynamic issue of a loose rubber seal on a Thule bar, directly impacting cabin quietness.
• Best for vehicle-specific repair → Jhyzxiang Spare Tire Hoist: With its precise fitment for GM trucks (1999-2018), this is the go-to for restoring factory-level functionality to your undercarriage.
• Best for roof rack maintenance → iqhsikao Seal Retainer Clip: This is the dedicated fix for Thule WingBar EVO systems where the original end clip has been lost or broken.
• Best for DIY ease without tools → iqhsikao Seal Retainer Clip: The simple clip design allows for immediate installation, whereas the hoist may require more effort to mount and align.
• Best for durability in harsh conditions → Jhyzxiang Spare Tire Hoist: Steel brackets painted black are generally more resistant to impact and road debris than 3D printed TPU components.
• Best for value in quantity → iqhsikao Seal Retainer Clip: Getting four clips in one package provides excellent coverage for multiple vehicles or future replacements.
• Best for tailgating preparation → Jhyzxiang Spare Tire Hoist: Securing your spare tire is critical when loading up for an event, ensuring nothing shifts or falls while you are away from the vehicle.
If I were choosing between these two for my own garage, the decision would depend entirely on what broke. However, looking at the scope of the problem each solves, I would prioritize the Jhyzxiang Spare Tire Hoist if I owned a compatible GM truck. A failing spare tire carrier is a safety hazard that can lead to damage to your vehicle or injury, so having a robust steel replacement is critical. On the other hand, if I am setting up for a weekend trip and my roof rack starts whistling, the iqhsikao clip is the perfect, low-cost fix to restore silence. For tailgating, securing your gear and spare tire is paramount, making the Jhyzxiang hoist the more impactful investment for the overall safety and readiness of your truck.
