Sunday's slate for Week 16 is over as the playoff picture gets closer and closer to being set while the race for the #1 pick in the 2025 draft is nearing it's end.
Eagles 33, Commanders 36
The Commanders came from behind to decimate the Eagles possible chance at the #1 seed in the NFC. Overcoming turning the ball over 5 times as an offense, Washington scored 22 points in the final quarter to beat the Eagles. Philadelphia was not able to rebound after losing Jalen Hurts to a concussion 11 plays into the game. Washington QB Jayden Daniels threw for 5 touchdowns, including the game-winner to WR Jamison Crowder, to most likely cement his status as the Offensive Rookie of the Year. The Eagles need to win one of their last two games or for Washington to lose one of their last two to win the division. Washington needs one more win or a combination of losses from other teams to clinch their first playoff berth since 2020.
Buccaneers 24, Cowboys 26
Earlier on Sunday, the Cowboys were eliminated from playoff contention after the results of the 1 p.m. games. With three games remaining, all they can do is play spoiler. And they might have just spoiled Tampa Bay's season with the win on Sunday Night Football. With key passes from QB Cooper Rush and key turnovers forced by the defense, Dallas won their second consecutive game. Tampa Bay is now tied with Atlanta for the lead in the NFC South and needs to finish with a better record then Atlanta to win the division for the fourth straight season.
Giants 7, Falcons 34
Jaguars 14, Raiders 19
Titans 30, Colts 38
Rams 19, Jets 9
Patriots 21, Bills 24
Losing another game, the Giants got a bit of help with other matchups happening around the league on Sunday. With the Raiders victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, 19-14, the Giants are now the only 2-win team remaining in the NFL. The Patriots, Browns, Titans, Jaguars, and Raiders all now trail New York by one loss in the race for the 1st pick in the 2025 Draft. With losses to the Colts and Eagles in their final two matchups, the Giants will receive the 1st pick for the first time since 1965.
