Walker Buehler will be joining a new franchise for the first time in his career as he signs a one-year, $21.05 million deal with the Boston Red Sox, as reported by Yahoo Sports' Russell Dorsey.
Buehler, 30, is coming off clinching the 2024 World Series with the Dodgers, including getting the save in Game 5 to win the series. Besides that, Buehler has had an up and down past couple of years, dealing with multiple injuries. In 2024, Buehler posted a 5.38 earned run average in his first action since 2022. But Buehler is a proven pitcher and shows up in the postseason. With the Dodgers this past postseason, Buehler did not allow a single run in his appearances in the NLCS against the Mets and World Series against the Yankees.
Buehler joins a Boston rotation who has already added prized pitcher Garrett Crochet off the trade market from the Chicago White Sox. They join a rotation that boasts Tanner Houck, Kutter Crawford, Lucas Giolito and Garrett Whitlock.
