How do I get started?
BRAINSTORMING
Write down all ideas, no matter how wild. The more ideas, the better!
Be creative and spontaneous. There are no wrong answers and lots of possible solutions.
Literature
Write down what the theme means to you – any words that come to your head. Can you think of a time that something happened to you that relates to the theme? What about something that you read about or heard? You can write anything – a story, a play, or a poem.
Photography
Think about what objects relate to the theme. How can lighting and location help you interpret the theme? What story are you trying to tell?
Visual Arts
What materials do you see that can help you create a work of art? Would you like to make it flat or 3-dimensional? Brainstorm materials you could use.
Film Production
The beginning of every movie is a story. First you have to write a story that relates to the theme. After you’ve though of a story, you have to write a script, which is what the people in your movie will say and do. Think about the location and the props that you might need.
Dance Choreography
What songs can you think of that relate to the theme? Are there any props you could use or a location where you can film your dance that relate to the theme?
Music Composition
What sounds can you think of that convey the theme? What feelings are you trying to share?
