Hi there! My name is Jessica Verpeut and I am a postdoctoral researcher at Princeton University. My research interests include the complex neural pathways involved in neural development. Specifically, I am interested in how the cerebellum guides development of the neocortex to develop novel treatment strategies for neural developmental disorders. I began my scientific training in animal science and psychology with an interest in translational neuroscience and have developed a more specific concentration in understanding underlying neural mechanisms involved in neural developmental disorders as a postdoctoral researcher. My research can be divided into three main areas: structural neural development, manipulation of long-distance neural circuits to analyze whole-brain activity, and utilizing machine learning to understand freely moving behavior.
