Jeremy Siow

I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Singapore Management University. Previously, I worked at the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford, as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Quantitative Political Science.

My research focuses on education politics and policy, and the drivers of intergroup discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, and immigrant status. Methodologically, I utilize a variety of causal inference techniques to evaluate how major policy reforms influence political attitudes and behavior, such as voting and democratic attitudes. Most of my empirical work centers on Malaysia and Singapore. My research has been supported by several grants, including the APSA Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant and the British Academy/Leverhulme Small Research Grant. My work has appeared in the Journal of Politics and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. 

I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis in 2024. Prior to my Ph.D. program, I graduated with an M.A. in Political Science and International Studies from Yonsei University, as well as a Bachelor's degree (B.Soc.Sci) in Political Science from the National University of Singapore.
