I get an exasperating number of hangup calls. If I block them, I take the risk that I may block a legitimate caller. I do not want legitimate callers to hear either of the two falsehoods that are offered for calls from blocked numbers. I have previously pleaded for a blocking option that could be quickly invoked with a few taps.

If that is not going to happen, I would like to be able to quickly assign a silent ringtone to the offending number.

The noise is disruptive. The need to check email two minutes later to see if the suspicious call was a hangup is an interruption. I am tired of being yanked off-task.

I was trying to add a new contact and discovered that the Ringtones option has completely disappeared from editing in Contacts. The old contacts still show their individual ringtones (and the ringtones work when someone calls me) and I can still see the ringtones under "Sounds & Vibrations". But when I tap "edit" in Contacts, Ringtones does not come up.

I've looked up help videos that mention a sound picker app. My phone doesn't show it (or any way to get to system apps). Please help.

Okay, I can reach ringtones from there. But I used to be able to access it from the edit menu under the individual contacts and that has disappeared.

Is that a glitch with my phone, or just some new pointless and inconvenient change Samsung made in their last update?

As a side note, is there a way to add a custom ring to a range of calls? For the calls that do not come up as Restricted, I know the area code and prefix but there could be any number of phone numbers that fit under this combination. Is there a way (whether within the phone or via a third party app) to accomplish this? I have Mr. Number but that only blocks certain calls from reaching my phone. It does not provide customization.

You can put all of the contacts in your list into a group and assign the group with a ringtone, and set the default ringtone as something else. This way anyone not stored in your phone will ring with a different tone to anyone you have stored.

If you notice that the messages are coming from different cell numbers each time but have the same content, it's possible that they are being sent through a bulk SMS service. These services often use disposable numbers. Try to identify any common elements in the messages, such as keywords, links, or sender information.

IF (you) have this issue "block a SMS that comes every day with a different Cell number" with (your) Kaspersky software, please provide information, as requested by Danila T. in Read before you create a new topic!

Important :

To receive text messages containing a verification or security code (2FA / OTP) you will have to disable this option.

Also, when above option is enabled you might miss e.g. SMS alerts or reminder notifications !

For others on this thread with an iPhone, the solution is to search for a doorbell call in "Recents" and tap the "i" next to the date of the call. From there, you can "Create a new contact" named "Arlo Video Doorbell" and change the Ringtone setting for that contact to a different ringtone or alert tone, e.g., Bamboo.

Hopefully, Arlo will allow users to elect to stop the calls separately from the chime in Silent Mode. Both my phone and my wife's phone ring with a doorbell press and it is quite annoying, especially when we are home.

My husband is an authorized user on our video doorbell: I want him to be able to see all the videos... but he's at work most of the time, and I'm a SAHM... we have kids ringing our doorbell all the time while he's at work... I need *his* phone to not ring, and my phone *to* ring (although, it'd be nice if it didn't ring when I was at home)... and the doorbell to ALWAYS ring, unless I put it on silent! (and I'd LOVE to be able to set the chime to 'quiet hours' so it automatically went into 'silent mode' between set hours of the day - which would be GREAT for moms of babies - doorbell CAN'T ring during nap time) I'm hoping there's a "disable calls" toggle soon, but is there a way we can get him to view video but not get calls? (I saw lots of questions asking how TO get calls so I'm assuming there's a way! - even if he can't 'edit' videos)

If you have an iPhone, try going to the list of recent calls, find the Arlo Doorbell, click on the "I" in the circle then in the caller info screen scroll down to "Block this Caller." (You can always un-block the bell from the Settings app). Works?

For personalized support specific to the Arlo products you own, access Support from within the Arlo iOS or Android App. Simply login to your Arlo App, go to Settings, Support, then select the Arlo product you would like support for.

I'm testing out Zoom phone service, and in the setup process, I'd like to add custom .wav files to the options that users can select from for their ringtone. I uploaded a .wav file via the vvx450's web interface, but once I add the url to the recommended Zoom provisioning server, it gets wiped from the phone. Is there a simple way to create a template that lets me include ringtones for users?

Solved after some digging.

A user on the Poly forums showed how to format .wav files to work on Poly VVX phones: -SIP-Phones/Polycom-VVX300-and-custom-ringtones/m-p/83002/highligh...

Building the provision template wasn't too hard once I found the corresponding parameter in the Poly UC documentation: -ag-6-0-0/page/r-ucs-ag-sampled-audio-file-parameters.html

After that, it was just a matter of uploading my .wav file to a publicly accessible url, one caveat being that I had to make sure the .wav file name in the url had no special characters, because it messed up the Poly phone. On Zoom's side, the provision template looks like this:

saf.2 = " "

My phone will not ring or vibrate when my boyfriend calls me but will when anyone else calls me. it used to ring when he called but then all of a sudden stopped. i have not changed any settings or even the ringtone for my boyfriends calls, so i dont understand what the issue is. all of my settings for volume, ringtone, vibration, etc are turned on.

That is pretty strange, bro0klynbridge. But you've come to the right place for answers. Checking the contact settings to make sure you don't have the calls set to go to voicemail for his contact as Ann154 mentioned is a good start. When you select his name in your contact list, press menu and look for the "All calls to voicemail" box. Your phone will still show a missed call but the call will almost immediately go into your voicemail if the box is checked. Also, try to edit his contact listing and select a different ringtone to ensure his line isn't set to the silent option or possibly a ringtone that's been removed from your phone.

I dont think he would be blocked... wouldnt that block the call completely? It shows that there is an incoming call, it just doesn't make any sound or vibrate like all of the other calls. but thank you, i will check it.

I would like to know if there is a way to disable the physical volume buttons in order to prevent the users from modifying the ringtone volume ? or set a volume level permanently via .cfg files ? . I have trouble with some users that tend to lowering the volume down when they dont want to answer calls. I've been looking in this forum but I didn't find info about this exact feature.

I'm having trouble with this phone and need help. I have an s10e unlocked, though it says it's a T-Mobile phone on startup (I am not with T-Mobile). I'm also current with all updates (downloaded one today). Couple of issues:

1. First, I had my DND turned on with my favorites set to break through. It worked initially, but no longer. I can't figure out what changed but my important contacts aren't ringing through. Need this function, since I'm a caregiver and need to be available for emergencies.

2. Can't figure out how to set a specific ringtone for a specific contact. I open the contact, hit "edit", then "view more" and there is no option for ringtone, only the vibration pattern. Tutorials online say I should see an option for ringtone, but it's just not here.

@MagicMagdelene: Where did you purchase the S10e from, as if it was purchased second hand then the previous owner may have been with T-Mobile, and bought the device directly through them. Regarding your Do Not Disturb issue, please try heading to Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > Exceptions > Calls, Messages and Conversations > Calls > Favourite Contacts. You may also wish to enable Repeat Callers at this stage, in the event that a contact is unable to reach you, and calls you back within 15 minutes. I'd also recommend opening the Phone app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Block Numbers > Block Unknown/Private Numbers > Off, in case this is a contributing factor. 152ee80cbc
