Jennifer L. Toney, Ph.D.

Jennifer Toney is a United States #PAProudEducator and member of the Keystones: Technology Innovators (KTI) Star Class of 2019 who teaches in Western Pennsylvania.  She is a third grade English Language Arts teacher at the Sharpsville Area School District where she focuses on digital and analog blended learning approaches to all things literacy in her departmentalized, gamified workshop classroom.  Jennifer is also an adjunct instructor at the Methodist University Graduate School of Education.  She received her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in literacy at Kent State University in 2017; and her scholarly interests include multimodal composition in the elementary classroom, blended learning approaches to literacy workshops with young learners, and English Language Arts curriculum development in the K-5 setting. Prior to teaching third grade English Language Arts, Jennifer taught for several years in kindergarten, first, and second grade primary classrooms.
