Jennifer M. Shea is an Assistant Professor of Aboriginal Health in the Division of Community Health and Humanities, Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University (MUN).

I have been working with Indigenous communities as a community-based researcher in both Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador since 2006. I completed a PhD in sociology specializing in Aboriginal Health at the University of Saskatchewan.

In the division I teach courses on Northern, remote and rural health, social justice and research methodology. Prior to working at MUN I worked within the provincial health care system for eight years.

My research is community-based and driven by community’s needs. I specializes in participatory approaches such as photovoice.
