It was a good song and I listened to it a couple of times when it first came out and occasionally since then, but recently I found that it's boring and plain and gives me a headache whenever it plays. Don't get me wrong Jennie is talented but I think that song is not "it", also consider that maybe I just got tired of the song. Tho the new rap verse from the show gave a new flare to the song, so I hope they release that version.

(I don't know if anyone posted a similar question here before) We know that teddy was involved in the production of both 'gashina' and 'solo' and many people also mentioned the similarities between the two songs. If jennie sang gashina instead of sunmi, would it still have been recieved the same way? Would the concept even suit jennie? Would jennie be more popular than she already is now? as we know blackpink has a lot of solo stans. Her solo song was released at the end of 2018 during the lazy scandal, would the song have affected the scandal in anyway?

If anything, SOLO is a very creative song and is indeed a complete copy of Jennie. I get why people say it sounds like 'Gashina' from Sunmi but some be going on as if its an exact replica of it. Yes it has some similarities but really. Some people were blaming and straight up hating on Jennie for having absolute no creativity.

People also didn't like the English rap and tbh I also didn't like it but everyone was comparing it to the blackpink songs and were saying: "I wish she had a rap like in D4" and a bunch of other stuff. It was like people were forgetting that it was actually Jennie's first solo release and not another BLACKPINK comeback (and i don't even stan them or jennie) the rap was also so Jennie ? sassy and badass.

Written by Danny Chung, Teddy, 24, and Vince, it is a special single following BLACKPINK's Born Pink World Tour (2022-2023), during which Jennie performed the song on stage. Jennie made her debut performance of You & Me on October 15, 2022 during the opening concert of BLACKPINK's world tour at KSPO Dome in Seoul, South Korea.

She also performed a remix version at the recent Coachella and BST Hyde Park festivals. As per Koreaboo, in a behind-the-scenes clip uploaded to her YouTube channel earlier this year, Jennie had revealed that she had recorded You & Me three to four years prior to 2022, and that 'it was on the list of nominees for her solo debut'. Ultimately, however, she made her solo debut on November 12, 2018, with the single Solo.

While there are no plans for an official comeback, Jennie has been performing the unreleased solo "You & Me" as part of the setlist for Born Pink World Tour. She is also set to make her acting debut later this year on HBO's series The Idol.

When the legendary Nile Rodgers chooses your song to be his first foray into K-pop, you must be doing something right. That is the case of Le Sserafim, the fearless girl group under Source Music (a sub-label of HYBE), and their May single "Unforgiven."

While all these songs are hits on their own, it turns out Jung Kook was saving the best for last. In November, he finally dropped his debut solo album, Golden, and title track "Standing Next to You." Inspired by the best of Michael Jackson, he moves through the song with conviction and poise, delivering a timeless hit for years to come.

Therein, the pair expound on getting out of their own way. The chorus, powered by a sample from British-Ghanian singer/songwriter Kwabs, sums it all up: "I couldn't see/ I was cheating on, cheating on me."

And BLACKPINK did not disappoint. Across two hours, Jisoo, Jennie, Ros, and Lisa delivered one rousing hit song after another and showed how far they've come since August 2016. Here are five ways the first of the group's two MetLife concerts was a celebration of their career.

BLACKPINK's more recent singles, from "Shut Down" to "Pink Venom," are undeniable pop anthems. But the ensemble has released addictive bangers since the very start of their career, and the fervor at MetLife during the throwback songs was a testament.

When "Boombayah," one of BLACKPINK's debut songs, started playing, the already roaring screams rose in volume. BLINKS swung their lightsticks more powerfully than before to the heavy beats of the song, and there was no hesitation when Jennie yelled "jump!" as the final verses approached. The floor began to shake as fans on all levels leapt in place while the group did the same on stage.

"Can we sing happy birthday to ourselves?" Ros asked as the four artists held banners that read, "Happy 7th year anniversary / BLACKPINK BLINK FOUREVER." The crowd of course screamed a resounding "YES!" and joined in on the song. "Happy birthday to Jennie Jisoo Lisa Rose," Lisa sang with a chuckle.

Born Claire Chicha, the breakout French Korean singer/songwriter shapes her introspections into ambitious alternative pop. Swimming through layered vocals and electropop tinges, the artist knows how to transform her dreamy reflections into eye-catching performances.

The girls performed many of their hit songs during the concert and lit the stage with solo performances. However, Jennie presented a fiery performance of her new unreleased solo song. You can check out the video of Jennie's solo stage below.

Jennie's journey to solo success began in 2018 when she released her debut solo single, the obviously-titled "Solo." At that time, the landscape of the U.S. music industry was quite different, and K-pop soloists faced significant challenges in breaking into the mainstream. It was a time when solo hits from K-pop stars were rare, and Jennie's "Solo" faced an uphill battle.

Fast forward to the present, and the situation has changed drastically. The American music industry is now more receptive to K-pop soloists, especially if they have already made a name for themselves and built a following from their work with established groups.

In 2021, Ros achieved a historic milestone when her single "On the Ground" entered the Hot 100, the ranking of the most-consumed songs in America. That win marked a significant moment for solo women in K-pop, and it was to be only the first taste of solo success among the Blackpink singers.

Fellow Blackpink star Lisa then followed suit, achieving an even more remarkable feat by sending both of her solo singles, "Lalisa" and "Money," onto the Hot 100. It was a clear sign that American audiences were not only embracing K-pop groups, but also their individual members as solo artists.

Now, with the United States increasingly open to K-pop groups and their members exploring solo careers, Jennie finds herself in a favorable position. Her upcoming release, "You & Me," comes hot on the heels of a star-making role in HBO's The Idol, where she co-starred. While the show may not have been a massive success, it undeniably raised her profile and could provide a significant boost to her solo endeavors.

As Jennie prepares to drop her latest single, her die-hard fans eagerly await the track and the next chapter of her solo career. Will she finally achieve the success she deserves outside of the group that brought her to prominence? With the growing acceptance of K-pop soloists in the U.S., Jennie's prospects are looking brighter than ever.
