Jeni L. Burnette
Jeni L. Burnette is a Professor of Psychology at North Carolina State University. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina and completed her Ph.D. in Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her research applies social psychological theories and methodological approaches in order to help individuals and organizations to flourish. Her work primarily focuses on mindsets, or beliefs about the malleable vs. fixed nature of attributes. Recently, she is investigating how to best implement growth mindset interventions. Her work has been published in a range of journals including Psychological Bulletin; Psychological Science; Journal of Personality and Social Psychology; Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice; Work, Aging, and Retirement; Journal of Leadership Studies, and Policy Insights from Behavioral and Brain Sciences.

Dr. Burnette provides insight into cutting edge research on how to harness growth mindsets for motivation, engagement, and psychological flourishing. Talks can be customized to meet client needs and can be in-person or virtual.
Below are sample topics:
Building a growth mindset culture: This talk is designed for power brokers, leaders, and influencers who want to learn how to create an environment that fosters growth mindsets to build more collaborative, creative, and engaged cultures.
Growth mindsets and psychological flourishing: This talk outlines the what, why, when, and how of growth mindsets in the context of psychological flourishing. The talk can be tailored to focus on links between between growth mindsets and engagement, personal goal achievement, emotional wellbeing, and/or mental health.
Foundation parenting: This talk outlines how parents can foster their own growth mindset as well as how to parent in a way that provides the foundation for raising kids who have a love of learning and are resilient. Foundation parenting is providing the soil needed to nourish the growth mindset seed.
