I am currently Paul R. Verkuil Professor of Economics and Public Policy at William & Mary, where I also direct the Schroeder Center for Health Policy and serve as Graduate Director of the William & Mary Master's in Public Policy Program.

I received a PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Health Policy at Yale University.

In my current research, I study public policies related to Medicare and Medicaid, particularly policies affecting low-income and disabled persons. In on-going projects, I am studying the use of managed care to deliver services to seniors and people with disabilities and policies affecting long-term services and supports.
