My rant about IfATE and their appalling approach to communications and 'consultation' (although there was a close runner up:  my article on bundling in Feb)

"***RANT ALERT***

This is disgraceful behaviour by IfATE

Some of the biggest standards have just been put out to consultation with a deadline of 22 December (for example, it includes the level 3 team leader).

The release of these consultations is not showing on the 'have you say part of their website', nor are are they showing on the RSS feed, nor have the IfATE emailed the EpAOs (or providers) delivering the standards!!!

Instead you have to dig around on their website, and if you are lucky you will find it https://lnkd.in/en9YrwJ8

How can can an organisation claim to effectively consult when they:

(a) make it almost impossible to find out about the consultations;

(b) give a ridiculously short deadline to respond;

(c) launch a consultation just before Christmas when people are busy sorting out many other activities within their own organisation before the Christmas shut down?

Why oh why oh why have we allowed such a ridiculously disjointed system to emerge? "
