Thomas Jefferson IB Model United Nations

Greetings Sponsors and Esteemed Delegates,

As Secretary General, and on behalf of our Club,  it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the first ever Thomas Jefferson International Baccalaureate Model United Nations Conference (JIBMUN), on May 4th 2024! 

JIBMUN will be hosted at our very own Thomas Jefferson Middle School on South Old Glebe Road, and will be a one-day conference with regular General Assembly, Specialized, and Crisis committees. Our club has worked hard to prepare this great experience for every delegate since 2023. As a middle school, it is a great achievement for our club to be able to host this conference this year, and I hope that as your delegation participates in JIBMUN, our wonderful Secretariat's work is apparent. Throughout JIBMUN Uno, our Secretariat hopes to further instill the values of international cooperation and diplomacy, and most of all, provide a great learning experience. 

As a result of hard work and commitment, I am pleased to present, on behalf of the entire JIBMUN club, an excellent choice of committee options. Our Secretariat has worked tirelessly to create three General Assemblies tackling some of the most pressing global issues of the day. In addition, JIBMUN I will provide delegates with two Specialized Committees and one very exciting Crisis Committee; all of which have well thought out and creative topics. 

On behalf of the JIBMUN Secretariat and Club, I am thrilled to welcome you to participate in the Inaugural JIBMUN 2024! We hope that you will experience a great conference and have fun.
