I am an Advising Fellow and lecturer in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where I teach Engagements courses.
Previously, I was Associate Professor of Theatre and Theatre Director at Norwich University (2017-2025). I am an interdisciplinary artist-scholar with several research publications and numerous artistic credits. I have also worked extensively in higher education administration and student affairs at UT-Austin, UW-Madison, and NYU. I studied philosophy and English literature at the University of Texas at Austin, where I later earned an MA in creative writing. I hold a PhD in Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
I grew up in rural West Texas and was a Pell Grant student and the first person in my family to graduate college. I try to keep my interests varied: country music and jazz, science fiction and poetry, D&D and modern art, dumb comedies and arthouse cinema, hiking and mediation...
