Chabot Bike Rack

This beautiful bike rack is just one example of how on the Chabot College campus, even the ordinary can be beautiful and extraordinary. Throughout the campus there are interesting places and spaces. There is a planetarium with beautiful mosaics decorating its sides. The Reed L. Buffington Visual and Performing Arts Center is a striking building with a terraced grassy Grand Court area in front.

Everywhere are lovely trees and other landscaping. Even the signage is interesting and beautiful. There are many areas for students to sit and study or socialize. It’s an inviting environment for students and faculty alike. The open atmosphere invites the free exchange of ideas.

The extreme importance of creativity and learning is a theme that is apparent all over campus. I found this quote from Aristotle engraved in stone outside one of the buildings - “All who have meditated on the art of governing mankind have been convinced that the fate of empires depends on the education of youth.” How true.
