Pygmy Three-Toed Sloths(Bradypus Pygmeaus)( B. pygmeaus) are found in one location off the coast of Panama, Isla Escudo de Veraguas. They were recognized as a species in 2001, and are the smallest of all of the sloth species. They prefer to live in the mangroves on the island; approximately 2.5% of the total land area. The biggest threat to this species is from human interference including habitat loss, and degregadation.
