**Speaker Bio:** Dr. Johannes Ullrich is the Dean of Research for SANS Technology Institute, a SANS Faculty Fellow, and founder of the Internet Storm Center, which provides a free analysis and warning service to thousands of Internet users and organizations. He is the host of the SANS Internet Storm Center Daily Stormcast, a daily podcast that provides a brief 5-minute summary of current network security related events.

**Description:** Linux has been the backbone of the modern internet. A large number of internet-connected devices run Linux. IoT, Mobile Devices, and Servers are all sharing the same software, and with it some of the same risks. We will look at what vulnerabilities are currently being attacked, why they are so attractive to attackers, and how to protect yourself from becoming a victim
