I'm Jatin Rao, a PhD Scholar specializing in fluid dynamics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IISc Bangalore, working under Prof. Saptarshi Basu.  

My research focuses on interfacial dynamics in high-speed flows, particularly involving shockwaves and vortices. This endeavor contributes to significant advancements in atomization under extreme flow conditions, bridging theory with transformative spray applications.

I am also investigating the internal flow dynamics of blowing soap bubbles, with implications that extend into impactful applications such as artificial organs, bio-locomotion, and soft robotics. 

My broader interests span interfacial waves and instabilities, vortex dynamics, multiphase turbulence, wave turbulence and shockwaves.
