Welcome to Jatayat ("we," "our," or "us"). Jatayat is an independent public transit utility designed to help commuters effortlessly browse, verify, and check official public bus routes, distances, and fare schedules in Bangladesh.

This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding information collection, use, and disclosure when you install and use our mobile application (the "App"). Because our goal is simply to make static transit data accessible, we operate on a strict, privacy-first data framework.

Jatayat is designed as a privacy-first utility for public transit commuters.

• No Personal Data: We do not collect, store, track, or share any personally identifiable information, location data, or personal search histories.

• Network Data: The App requires an active internet connection strictly to fetch public route mappings, fare matrices, and official BRTA (Bangladesh Road Transport Authority) document data from our backend servers. This communication is purely transactional and operational.

• Push Notifications (Optional): We may request permission to send push notifications regarding transit updates, route modifications, or fare changes. You can opt out of these at any time via your device settings.

2. Third-Party Services

The App utilizes trusted third-party services exclusively to ensure system stability, deliver database metrics, and receive user bug reports. These services do not share your identity with us and operate under their own independent privacy policies:

• Google Play Services: Used for core Android runtime infrastructure and secure app delivery.

• Supabase: Used strictly as our backend host database to fetch and stream public route and fare matrices directly to your device.

• Firebase (Crashlytics): Used to capture anonymous crash logs and diagnostics so we can proactively patch application bugs.

• GitHub (Feedback Client Pipeline): Used strictly when you explicitly submit a bug report or missing stop ticket. This pipeline transmits user-initiated context logs directly to our developer repository to help track bugs.

3. Data Security

We value your trust in using our App. Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is no personal user data retained on our servers to compromise. For the operational traffic handled by our backend providers (Supabase/Firebase), industry-standard encryption protocols are enforced during transit.

4. Children’s Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children, as our service does not collect personal data from any user group.
