What We Do & How We Work

We take on problems that interest us — problems that are hard to define, hard to solve, or just hard to admit. We don’t care if it’s too small for consultants, too weird for engineers, or too personal for a tech firm. If it’s worth solving, and we think we can bring value, we’ll consider it.

This page outlines how we work, how we price things, and what you can expect if you decide to bring us a problem.

The Process

1:   You reach out.
Send an email with a clear, honest description of the problem. No sales pitch. Just what’s wrong or what’s missing.

2:   We review it.
If it looks promising — not dumb, not spam, and not boring — we’ll ask a few questions and explore what we might do.

3:   We work the problem.
Quietly, independently, and on our own time. We don’t do meetings unless they’re necessary — and sometimes not even then.

4:   You get a solution.
Sometimes it’s a working fix, a method, a model, or a new way of seeing the problem. You look at it, and if you find real value in what we’ve delivered, that’s when you pay.

How We Price

We offer two models:

Outcome-Based Pricing (default)

• You present the problem.

• We return a solution.

• You decide what it was worth — and whether it solved your problem.
  
  

This model works when we have full autonomy and don’t need to operate on your schedule. You don’t pay unless you find value. Sometimes the value is obvious. Sometimes it takes months. That’s fine.

[Understanding Outcome-Based Pricing]

Hourly Rate

• Used only when your process controls our time.

• Required for contracts, NDAs, invoicing, scheduled meetings, or formal corporate workflows.

• The Hourly Rate is $450 CAD or $400 USD.  Taxes may apply and invoices will be provided.
  
  

When we’re obligated to operate on your schedule or review documents on your behalf, the hourly rate applies. The first conversations — the part where we decide if we can provide value — are always free.

Privacy & Discretion

Everything you share with us stays private, unless we mutually agree otherwise. We don’t share client work unless we’re both proud of it and both want it published.
