I'm a trained Japanologist working on the generative syntax and formal semantics of natural languages. For a couple of years I have been mostly focused on the syntax-semantics interface of quotation, but I'm interested in a variety of areas where natural languages kick in, from philosophy to social science. You will find here selected papers and talks on these topics.
I did my PhD (2015) on Japanese and Chinese classics. Before joining the Department of Formal Linguistics at the University of Warsaw, I worked for one year at the Department of Japanology and Sinology (Jagiellonian University, Kraków). I also spent more than two years in Japan, receiving the Monbusho (Chiba University, 2008-2009) and the Japan Foundation scholarship (University of Tokyo, 2012-2013). In January 2022, I created and became the head of Formal-Comparative Linguistics Research Lab (FOCAL; University of Warsaw, Faculty of Modern Languages).
