I sudo executed the "install.sh" script in my home directory using the terminal interface. When asked, I opted to allow it to "automatically" configure my firewall (no idea), and the script completed successfully. I discovered that the script does not actually install the printer. It may do something firewall-ish, who knows, but it does put a load of PPD files in /opt/samsung/printer/share/ppd/ directory with names in the format: Samsung[whatever-model-series].ppd. So pretty easy to figure the one you want.

You can then use Cinnamon's print utility (or I imagine Unity or Gnome, etc) to add your printer. I added a new Network Printer. Selected LPD/LPR Host or Printer. Under host put in the LAN IP address and under Queue put (in my case) L1.

Most probably there will not be a graphical process of installing the drivers. The file that you mentioned is an archive. You need to extract from it the contents (in GUI or in CLI). In most of the cases in the files extracted will exist a file called install.sh that you will need to execute. For this you will need to:

Apple decided to make the laser printer Samsung CLP 360 series dysfunctional over a night. No drivers provided for this model that can work with macos Big Sur anymore. In HP they admit that they are unable to find drivers for my product -en/drivers/selfservice/samsung-clp-360-color-laser-printer-series/17156859

CLP-360_Series_Mac_PrinterDriver_V5.02.00 were working fine with macos X 10.15 during the installation through Bonjour. But now they are not available anymore. I installed them by myself but the system can't detect them. So the printer is not working.

Apple is not responsible for third-party printer drivers. That is HP, who now owns the Samsung printer business, and may choose to prioritize newer printers for Big Sur support over older printers, and some printers will never receive newer drivers. Take that up with HP.

You are correct. The vendors must work together and most of them do. Apple had advised HP well in advance of the specific technical requirements of the upcoming Big Sur operating system, so the requirements were well known by HP. If HP declines to support Apple's customers, that is on them. Apple does not, and can not write printer driver software for the thousands of printers out there around the world since they do not own or have access to the proprietary software code of each printer model. It is unfortunate that you have to have this experience.

I have a suggestion which may help you. Check the link below where volunteers have written code for many older models of printers which the vendors no longer support. There may be one that works for you.

Apple upgrades are becoming like Microsoft. Every new upgrading breaks more than it fixes. my computer has become super slow and yes the 2 samsung printers i have couldn't be accessed and scanner didn't work till i figure out this shared on the network feature

I have the same problem with my EPSON XP 200. printer. Apple doesn't mention this when it invites you to update. Just install our fancy upgrade which makes your peripherals unworkable. The incompatibility is then your problem

Hi to all of you Mac geeks in Apple land. Big Sur update did nothing for the Mac Pro. (i movie update) Same problems. Mac Pro will not recognize Epson printer. Sometimes when shutting down, Mail opens and U have to force quit?. When we power up, the trash has (old news ) recovered files in it which are empty files. Photo quits unexpectedly?. Still NO

A vulnerability has been discovered HP, Xerox, and Samsung printer drivers, which could result in local privilege escalation. A printer driver is a piece of system software that allows your computer to interact with your printer. This vulnerability specifically deals with an old printer driver from 2005 called SSPORT.SYS which affects hundreds of millions of devices and millions of users worldwide. Successfully exploitation of this vulnerability might allow attackers to potentially install programs, view, change, encrypt or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.

A vulnerability has been discovered in HP, Xerox, and Samsung printer drivers which could result in local privilege escalation. HP, Xerox, and Samsung are prone to a local privilege escalation vulnerability that could allow a user with basic user privileges to elevate their privileges to SYSTEM and run code in kernel mode, potentially bypassing security products that would block their attacks or the delivery of additional malicious payloads. Successfully exploiting this vulnerability (SSPORT.SYS) might allow attackers to potentially install programs, view, change, encrypt or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.

Hello everyone, I have a problem about my Samsung SCX-3200 model printer. Last week, I upraged my windows from 7 to 10. When I was using windows 7, double-printing mode works "automatic". For example, I had a 20 pages. I have selected double-printing and click print. Firstly, 10 pages (front pages) are printed and they were collected at the table of printer. After I put back them into printer and I press the printer button. Printer took all of the front pages into and print their back pages.

I have a Samsung ML-2010 and could not get double sided (duplex) printing when I first installed it to Windows 10, as it installed a Universal Driver 3 rather than a specific one. However I cured the problem as follows:

* Control Panel: Devices and Printers. This is an old-fashioned page, not the dumbed-down one Windows 10 may try to show you. If you can't find it , press the Windows key + R shortcut to bring up the Run dialogType control printers and press Enter.

* Right click on your printer and go to Printer properties (not Printing properties).

* Click on Advanced tab, next to Driver select Samsung ML-2010 series and click "New Driver"

* This will take you to an "Add Printer Driver Wizard" which will let you download and install a driver from "Windows Update".

* Restart your computer (I could see and select the double-sided options, but didn't get to use them correctly until I restarted the computer).

After I did all this steps with my Samsung SCX-3200 printer, the manual duplex printing vanished. I cannot see anywhere. If I use Universal Driver 3 I can see the manual duplex printing, but if I select that option, the printer not print anything. I cannot install the driver from the cd, because I don't have any working cd reader. (Only in my Windows XP laptop, but I know it has a lot of virus.)

When I also moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I couldn't make it work properly, so I needed to update the drivers. I faced some problems with the updates and I just uninstalled and deleted everything. It is very easy to find the drivers again because Samsung has everything on their own website, so you just need to type the model and then you can find everything you need for it. Besides that, I bought a nice cardstock printer after I saw a cool review on -sublimation-printer-reviews/ and I also downloaded drivers on their website.
