Welcome!
My name is Janet Horsager and I am an environmental economist and writer. I am a collaborative leader with experience in data analysis, econometric modeling, graphic design, policy writing, grant writing, and teaching. I have high standards for excellence and attention to detail, with a passion for design and problem solving. Additionally, I am practiced in public speaking and adaptable to a changing environment.
I completed my master’s degree in agricultural and resource economics at UC Davis in 2016. My degree provided me with econometric skills and a robust understanding of microeconomics. In addition to the Master’s course sequence, I also completed the sequence of PhD courses in microeconomic theory and econometrics. Since leaving Davis, I have conducted research in a variety of contexts from policy analysis to farmer behavior. I have worked with administrative, spatial, and survey data, often combining data from various sources to better study diverse topics such as the role of water availability in agricultural planting decisions and how policy changes may affect consumers’ use of recycling services. I also have experience in data collection.
