Welcome to the JanCon website!

This year, instead of a one-day "traditional conference", we are offering all full-time and part-time faculty members at Chapman the opportunity to participate in flipped learning and subsequent discussions with their peers about three learning topics over three days. Faculty members can choose from the following:

Motivation and Learning - Tuesday, January 24

Learning for Mastery - Wednesday, January 25

Learning in a Digital Age - Thursday, January 26

We'll have a morning (10:30-11:45 am) and afternoon (1:30-2:45 pm) discussion session for each topic on the date indicated, to accommodate faculty members' busy teaching and research schedules.

What do faculty members need to do to participate?

  1. Please go to the webpage(s) in the menu for the topic(s)/day(s) you are interested in.
  2. Sign up for the AM or PM discussion session on as many days as you would like to participate.
  3. While it's not required to do so before your discussion, we hope you'll take a look at the session's Materials Suite, which has multiple resources on the topic. Reviewing at least one item in the Suite will help us to have a productive discussion.
  4. Complete the CPA (conference preparation assignment) and submit it by 9 AM on the day of your discussion session. It's estimated the CPA will take you less than 20 minutes to complete.
  5. Come to the Faculty Athenaeum (Argyros Forum 310, Orange Campus) on the day/time of your discussion session(s), ready to enjoy some light refreshments and to collaborate with your peers and discuss your knowledge, challenges, successes, and questions.

What if I have questions?

Please contact Dr. Roxanne Miller, IETL Director, at rgmiller@chapman.edu if you have any questions about the conference, the website, or have any difficulties with signing up or with downloading any materials. We are here to help and look forward to your participation.
