ABOUT MYSELF

I am currently pursuing my doctorate (Ph.D.) in Territory Innovation and Sustainability (from Feb-22). For my PhD, I am interested to understand traveller's psychology in adoption of shared e-mobility with due focus on micro-mobility modes. I did my Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and Master's in Highway Transportation Engineering from the The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in India. During my master's, I performed my external research stay at Council for Scientific and Industrial Research- Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi in India to pursue postgraduate thesis research. After completing my postgraduation, I was affiliated as a "Full time Project Engineer" at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat. I worked on various research & consultancy related projects there in the Transportation Engineering and Planning section of Department of Civil Engineering.

My research is primarily focused in the domain of Urban Transportation Planning. I am interested in the analysis (and of course prediction) of peoples' travel behaviour in cities to promote the smart & sustainable transportation and to help city authorities in developing suitable policy framework. I am also concerned about the city parking spaces and related policies which I believe an important aspects in controlling private-vehicle usage. My approach is the use of econometric models integrating both quantitative and qualitative (users' perceptions and attitudes) data. I am also aspiring to integrate econometric models with machine learning techniques in near future to improve the predictive abilities of discrete choice models.
