Introduction

I am an urban geographer with research interests in the areas of low-income housing policy and racial residential segregation. My current research focuses on the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Rental Assistance Demonstration program.

At SIUE I teach Introduction to Geography, Human Geography, Geography of Latin America, Introduction to Urban Geography, Advanced Urban Geography, Political Geography, and our graduate-level Seminar in Cultural Geography.

In addition I am the Program Coordinator for the Interdisciplinary Minor in Urban Studies, and I supervise Geography majors pursuing the department's Area of Specialization in Sustainability and those pursuing social science secondary education certification.
