Jalon Payton is a freelance AEA Stage Manager originally from Baltimore, MD. He is currently an Assistant Stage Manager at American Players Theatre for their 2026 Summer Season. Next, he will be the Stage Manager for Everyman Theatre's world premiere of Different Words for Happiness by Katie Kleiger (Everyman Resident Company Member). His credits include; The 1st National Tour of Some Like it Hot. American Players Theatre (As You Like It, Dontrell Who Kissed the Sea, The Brothers Size, The Royale, A Raisin in the Sun, Anton's Shorts) Arena Stage (Swept Away [East Coast Premiere, Pre-Broadway Engagement], Tempestuous Elements [World Premiere], The High Ground [World Premiere]), Everyman Theatre (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery), Baltimore Center Stage (The Swindlers: A Tru-ish Tall Tale [World Premiere], The Folks at Home [World Premiere]), Imagination Stage (10 Seconds), and Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival (The Color Purple). He has also Stage Managed Play Readings and workshops with Arena Stage, Taffety Punk Theatre, Mosaic Theatre, & Roundhouse Theatre. Jalon is a 2024 recipient of the Charlie Blackwell Symposium Scholarship. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County & the Community College of Baltimore County.
