My name is Jake Mozarsky, and I am an Editorial Intern at The Sporting News, a role I began in August 2025. My primary responsibilities involve writing about various sports topics, with a strong focus on the NFL and college football, MLB, NHL and NBA, as well as other sporting events such as high-profile boxing events or Mr. Olympia. I have written articles covering game updates, injury reports, radio coverage information for games, player background details, and analysis of major sporting events and transactions.
Before joining The Sporting News, I built up my portfolio by writing for several other outlets and being on-air talent at specific platforms. I have experience contributing to the Marquee Sports Network, Chicago This Week, Blue Line Station, the Arizona Republic, Inside NU, and The Daily Northwestern. These positions have given me a broad background in local and college sports, which has been valuable for my current role. My previous work has covered everything from the Chicago Cubs and Bears to New York Rangers news.
My educational background is in line with my career path, as I completed both my bachelor's and master's degrees at Northwestern University before taking on my editorial internship. This academic foundation, coupled with my hands-on writing experience across multiple platforms, has prepared me to tackle a variety of assignments, from breaking news and live updates to in-depth analysis of major football and other professional sports events. During my time at Northwestern, I covered a nationally-recognized hazing scandal that surrounded the football program and two of the three NCAA men's basketball tournament appearances in school history.
I am passionate about the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, college football and basketball, and more, and have been lucky enough to build professional experiences in all those areas.
