Honors Portfolio

Introduction

My name is Jake Heggie and I am a Senior at Minot State University. I will graduate in the Fall of 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Honors. After graduation, I hope to combine my love for sports with my new passion for law. I have always been fascinated with the intricacies of the business side of sports and see no better way to unite my passions then to become a sports agent.

I believe that the Honors Program has facilitated substantial growth in my personal and academic life. It has given me an opportunity to improve on my study habits and has advanced my critical thinking through several courses that cover an array of diverse subjects. I also believe that the Honors Program has helped me grow as an individual by allowing me to work with people from diverse backgrounds as well as take courses that help me grow in areas such as leadership, problem solving, and community involvement.

This portfolio will show how I have met each goal of the Honors Program - critical thinking, community awareness and involvement, communication, and cultural diversity. I will present artifacts to serve as evidence for completion of these goals. I believe that the completion of these goals will not only help make me be successful in my future endeavors but also make me a more productive member of society.
