Design

I wanted to create a design that portrayed Utah's state animal, state bird, state flower, and state insect, while also practicing some of the design techniques implemented in this week's studies.

Contrast: I used contrast by making the white text bold and sit on top of the pictures. I also gave it a shadow to make it stand out from the warm colors from the background and the images.

Repetition: All of the shapes that the pictures sit in are the same dimensions and they are equally spaced from each other and from the edges of the design.

Alignment: Each picture is aligned and spaced equally from each other and from the border of the design

Proximity: Each picture is placed in a line, creating a connection between them. They are also placed underneath the text, which also creates a relationship between "Utah" and the images.

Color Scheme: I used a warm yellow background to match the background but also because Utah is known as the beehive state and I wanted to use the color of honey.

Font Choice: I chose the text because it was bold, but simple. Also because of the round edges of the pictures, I wanted a round text as well to match.

Photoshop

Each picture was found on pexels.com. I first created the yellow background, and then created the shapes. I placed each picture inside of the shapes using clipping masks. Then I created the text and placed it on top. I selected the shapes and aligned them and then spaced them equally.
