T S Lakshmi Narayana and Padma sree gave birth to Jagadeeshwar in 1992 in the southern Indian village, Vayalpad. He attended Vivekananda EM High School for the most of his education (Vayalpad). During his intermediate, he studied for an engineering entrance test, which he passed and attended Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College in India. He became interested in sensors and signal conditioning while studying here and graduated with a B.Tech. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in 2013. He then enrolled in NIT Kurukshetra in India to pursue his Master of Technology degree, which he completed in 2016. After turning down a graduate studies offer from IIT Bombay, he enrolled in IIT Madras in India to pursue his Ph.D. His study focuses on photonic sensors for nondestructive testing. He tutored undergrads, created a standard shortlisting software for Ms/PhD admissions, developed a website for Photonics LAB, and volunteered with Evidyalokha while at IIT Madras. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Louisiana State University in the United States. During his postdoc, he researched on various well control procedures using distributed sensing techniques such as DAS, DTS, and DSTS. He also worked on leak detection techniques using fiber optic sensing such as DAS, DTS, DSTS, and FBGs. He is currently employed at Fraunhofer CAP in Glasgow. He is married and lives in Glasgow, Scotland, with his wife and one daughter.
