About
I am a mathematician captivated by the aesthetic beauty of mathematics. As a geometer, I enjoy combinatorializing to uncover the elegance inherent in mathematical structures, so combinatorial geometer would best describe me. I often characterize my field as matroid geometry—combinatorial geometry that blends ideas from matroid theory and algebraic geometry. I also work in tropical geometry.
If you were at SRI 2025, you probably remember me—the one in the suit!
(You can spot me nestled in the curve of the R in the aerial group photo.)
Research
Recently, I have fully or partially solved several open problems:
Birational geometry of matroids and abstract hyperplane arrangements (update coming soon).
The circuit-cocircuit intersection conjecture for intersection size k ≤ 7.
Two matroid extension conjectures: the sticky matroid and Kantor's, submitted.
