JAECHEOL LEE
I am currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Climate Impact Lab, a dynamic collaboration between academia and industry aimed at assessing the social costs of climate change. As a member of the Coastal Analysis team, I assess the heightened risks of wind and flood damage in coastal regions due to climatic changes.
My research primarily focuses on the issues environmental and urban economics.
Coastal Challenges: My work addresses the increased risks from wind and flood events in coastal areas and the societal impacts of shoreline protection measures such as beach nourishment.
Air Pollution: I explore the public health impacts of the transboundary air pollution and air quality alerts.
Consumer Welfare: I analyze shifts in consumer welfare resulting from governmental policies, spurred by the recent advent of consumption expenditure data.
I have been selected as a Beijer Young Scholar by the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. I am a grantee of the 2017 Fulbright Scholarship, part of the Fulbright Scholar Program sponsored by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
