Jackson Purchase + Western Kentucky Area Chess

The goal of this website is to promote chess in the western regions of Kentucky, from approximately the Jackson Purchase (Paducah, Murray, and everything in between) out towards Bowling Green and Owensboro.

This site does not represent any single group, and is currently maintained by David Sye, syechessclub@gmail.com. Email David if you would like to list your Western Kentucky chess event here.

Open Tournaments: Anyone can participate in these tournaments and typically draw a mix of adults and kids. They frequently have multiple sections or prizes for players under a certain United States Chess Federation (USCF) rating. Ex. "U1200 Section" or "U1200 Prize" means it is only for players with a USCF rating under 1200. "Open Section" means anyone can play in it, and often features the top players in the area.

Scholastic Tournaments: Only K-12 students can participate in these tournaments. They frequently have sections based on grade level, such as K-3, K-5, K-8, and K-12.

Clubs: Groups that meet regularly for casual and/or competitive play.
