Desmond is the Son of Amy Quinn and the archangel Gabriel. Amy was working as a porn star when she got pregnant. By  the time she realized she was Gabriel was long gone the trickster moving on to a new town always staying a step ahead of hunters that might be after him.

Amy tried looking for Gabriel but as she tracked him she came upon the trail of bodies that he left and eventually she came to the conclusion she'd been impregnated by Loki. As her pregnancy continued she started to get horrifying dreams about dying while giving birth and while she thought about ending the pregnancy she couldn't help the love she felt for the baby inside him. 

When Amy died giving birth to Des her parents took him in and raised him. When Des started manifesting powers as he entered puberty his grandparents felt they had to tell the boy what they knew about his father. They supported him the best they could spending countless nights researching to try and help him. 

When Des was 15 when his grandmother passed away and while his grandfather tried to hang on for his grandson but his heart couldn't take life without his love and he passed a bit less than a year later. 

Des knew that no foster family could ever understand his powers and so he packed a bag and slipped away at night deciding to find his father in hopes that he could be taught to control his powers.

Note: Des does not know he's a nephlim, he thinks he's a demi-god. He also doesn't know that his father is Gabriel and not Loki

Main Verse: Des at 15 1/2 looking for his father to learn how to control his powers

Verse 2: Des has been looking for his father for 5 years (now age 20). Some where down the line he wound up hunting. At first it was just a monster here and there that he ran into but now 5 years later he's pretty much gained complete control of his powers and he's changed his focus more and more towards focusing. The file on his dad sits covered in dust under the seat of his car more or less forgotten
