J. Benjamin Quinton

J. Benjamin Quinton is an Art Teacher and Photography Instructor who fuses lessons on design concepts and elements of art into his nature-based workshops.

J. Benjamin Quinton developed a true passion for the art of photography after taking a camera with him to document his hikes and world travels.  Today, he still creates his own photography-based documentary projects.  Only now, the traveler turned artist has taken on an instructor role as an Art Teacher.  Artists of all ability levels from novice to intermediate appreciate Quinton’s teaching style.  While he does go beyond teaching the basics, his lessons are easy to follow even for a complete beginner.  His welcoming attitude and artistic integrity make it easy for students to ask questions along the way.  Coming from a consulting background in his previous professional life, Quinton enjoys providing instruction and giving feedback to students.  The Art Teacher is best known for treating the great outdoors like an open studio where he can teach his students how to apply design concepts and techniques.  Nature is full of endless subjects, scenes and opportunities to capture art, in Quinton’s view.

Ben Quinton is a huge fan of documentaries.  Over the years, he has developed his own unique art style in which he creates documentary-style slideshows of images he has captured.  One day, he hopes to produce more video-focused documentaries, like those of his favorite documentarian, David Attenborough.  Some of Quinton’s all-time favorite nature documentaries include: Animals are Beautiful People (1974), Baraka (1992), Life (2009) and Great Barrier Reef (2015).
