Izzat Hassan

I am an applied economist with research interests at the intersection of environmental and urban economics, with a particular interest in climate change, natural hazards, housing markets, and sustainable development. I received my PhD in Economics from Sogang University in Summer 2026. 

My research uses quantitative methods and administrative, geospatial, and satellite data to study how environmental risks, public policies, and socioeconomic changes affect people and places. My current and future research aims to further explore the economic consequences of climate and environmental change, urbanization and land-use transformation, and policies for climate adaptation and sustainable development.
